December Wrappers

Hey girl hey. And boy.

Ahh, last month of the year. If only it was the last month of school too. Hm…December was definitely an improvement from the rest of the months school-wise (not like this has anything to do with the fact that there were only three weeks this month) I think I actually liked it. If you haven’t read my last monthly wrappers – click here. Oh and by the time I upload this, it’ll be January 1st so HAPPY NEW YEAR! I wish you all the best 2018 because y’all are amazing and you deserve it. Okay cheesy talks aside, as usual, skim through to what interests you and let’s get started.

Every month, in our homeroom class, the teacher assigns new seats and this month was actually pretty decent. But omg, in gym class we had the beep test. I don’t know if you guys know it but it’s this dumb running back and forth routine thing and you have to get to each side before the beep goes. I was sooo bad. Like I’m an actual living potato.

We had this field trip for this club I’m in and I was just living the loner life to the fullest. To be honest, the transition from social potato to loner potato was pretty hard but now I just kind of accepted it.

One day at break, I went to the woods beside our school and sat on a bench. I was reading We Were Liars and the beginning was pretty boring like have any of you guys read it? My best friend Raya said it’s really good but I’m not very convinced. Anyways, this middle-aged couple came up to me and were like, “I’m so glad to see a teen reading instead of using their phones” like aww we bookworms are appreciated in society, okay? 😂

I also started the program with one of the special needs kids at my school. We’ll call her Julia. I think I told you guys about this before but we started in December. Basically, we’d just play games indoors at recess and since she celebrated Hanukkah, we talked about that and did some of the traditional games.

In English class, we had to act out this mini skit from this magazine and I had to do the Spanish accent. I actually couldn’t contain myself when we were practicing but I think I did a decent job.

On the last week of school before the break, I was part of organizing this bake sale for the winter performances. Oh and surprisingly, so many people know my name like..?? I don’t spend my lunches in the lunchrooms anymore so I hardly know anyone in my grade other than people in my class but I started talking to some lately. I also formed the potato squad with May and her friend- we’ll call her Claire. As for Farah, I actually talk to her as much as I can. She’s actually a pretty chill person and we spend most of the time talking about Turkish dramas.

My anxiety came back on some days but for the most part, I think I’m pretty content with school now. Except the fact that I have to do two presentations when we come back – ugh.

Oh and if you didn’t know, I made the basketball team – totally casual. Just kidding I did my whole freak out on The Versatile Blogger Award but I’m still freaking outtt. I was going to add in the whole tryout “experience” here but I decided to make that on February when we’re done all our games so that I have more “words of wisdom”. Besides, this passage is really long already so I’m going to end it about here since that’s basically the highlights.

I played a lot of basketball this month but we couldn’t play outside anymore because of the snow. We had a snow day, so I went to the mall and that was the only time I was thankful for snow. 😂 I also got a really cute journal from Urban Planet.

We had a book fair and I bought the book A Week Of Mondays – IT’S SO GOOD! I’ll probably do a book review. We bought the game Monopoly during the Winter break and we play it almost every day. Oh last night, I binge watched Haters Back Off 2 because Miranda is bae. Not much really happened so to fill up the space, I’ll just tell you about this not-so-nice Dollorama cashier.

So there was this old lady in front of me in line and I don’t think she could hear that well. The conversation between her and the cashier went something like this:

Cashier: Hello, how are you?

Lady: …..

Cashier: Excuse me I said HOW 👏 ARE 👏 YOU? 👏

Lady: Oh sorry- um I’m good.

Cashier: Okay when someone asks about your day, you answer. Now that would be $9.99.

Like duuuuuude. Poor lady. I think that’s pretty much it for Life.

Omg you guys! I slacked as much as last month. I kept posting posts a day after their schedule like ..?? I didn’t start Hot Choco Talks either but I think I’ll start in late January to February. I have some topics in mind but I will make a blog asking if you have any topics that aren’t on the list. Oh and my laptop got 100 times worse. The screen sort of fell apart, so I secured it with duct tape (smart, I know), it would shut down randomly AND it’s currently not opening so yay me. 🙃

UGHHHHH THE BLEEP TEST! I still have PTSD from that. And We Were Liars is super weird – it almost moved me to write a review! The beginning is super slow and I’m not a fan of the kind of pretentious poetic writing tbh…..but the ending is AMAZING. It actually made me cry! xxx

For me, they’re just the start of a stressful week😂😬. I feel so bad for that lady ahaha. I literally space out so much in stores (and life for that matter) that would totally happen to me😂. Love this post! Xx, Stell :).

    School’s fine.

Blogging I’ve been slacking on….but it’s hard. Can I just make a confession?? I have an internet alter ego nobody knows about. Basically, somewhere on the WP community, I have another blog and there I go by my real name…I blog about something TOTALLY different over there, and I’m not sure if I want to tell all my readers…

😦 Life?? Um…I’m not sure I have one….I have spent the past three weekends binge reading webcomics trying to get over my stupid on-screen crush. Oh well. And I’m trying to lose weight (my mom insists I don’t need to, but I just want to be slimmer, so I’m just like whatever) so I can’t have cake for my birthday on Saturday. I can’t believe I’m gonna be 12…..and I have 5 hours of rehearsal so I can’t have a party. Maybe I’ll have a digital party and all of you are invited. I think it’s cool you hang with a special needs girl, my sister is special needs.

I really wish I could meet you in real life….*sobs* WE’D HAVE SO MUCH FUNNNN!

Soooooo sorry! WordPress put this in spam for some reason! Anyways, tysmmm and another blog?? Wow! You kinda got my curiosity triggered there but it’s okay – tell your readers when you feel comfortable (if you want to tell me privately, you can always contact me – I’m so nosy wow) Gurlll I’m trynna lose weight too but missing cake on ur bday? No no no. And you’re 12! Ik how it feels since I tried diets when I was 10 so I’m not going to age limit you but loosen it up a bit – maybe try exercises that make you happy. For me, that’s basketball and dance. Yesss a digital party! Aw thanks – I think special needs people are just like us but their brains work a bit differently and that’s okay. Gurlll same here! You seem like a really cool person. My reply is all over the place – apologiess xD

How about I tell you on Sarahah?? It’s fine, my reaction would have been exactly the same….I’m super curious. For my birthday I had sugar free, gluten free lemon cake. It wasn’t all that bad….but it wasn’t quite the same. I’m trying to lose weight, but I’m also hyperglycemic, so eating gluten and sugar free helps ‘balance my blood sugar’ or whatever…YOU DANCE? WHAT KIND? I do ballet 3 days a week. Aww, thank you so much! I’m going to sarahah you right now with my other blog name.-Cocoa

Oh okay! I’ll check it.Okay lemon cake is acceptable xD Ballet?? Wow! No I just do the average choreographed dances (not jazz, gymnastics or anything like that and it’s not even professional haha I just dance in my room sometimes since it’s a fun way to exercise)

Glad at least one of us had a great month☺️ I’ve read we were liars before and HATED IT, my close friend H who of course is a reading enthusiast recommended it to me and everyone around me was raving about how good it was but like you said the start of the book is super boring and repetitive like they’re just staying on a private estate doing random things and different characters arrive, this boredom you feel will last quite a while and the ending was unsatisfactory for me. All in all it was hyped up too much but I found it mediocre at best, distasteful at worst.

Girlll I literally gave up on reading it the first time. But I read it again in the perfect reading setting (blankets and all at night) and then I finished in the morning. The book isn’t what I usually read but it was cool trying something new. I feel like if you read it over the course of days it wouldn’t be as intense but I literally binge-read it so I almost fainted when the ending hit me. It’s okay though. Maybe this book isn’t for everyone.

For me though I feel like reading a book in one day has its faults as well because it doesn’t give you time to process your thoughts about the book and reflect on what happened in the scene and theorise what’s gonna happen next and connect with the character by feeling like he or she or it has grown en route this “long” journey Also I feel like the book should be interesting enough to capture the reader’s attention for at least a few days U no. It’s like u had to force yourself to read we were liars in one day because you’d lose interest in it if it was read through a course of a few days. U might think the ending is great now but maybe that’s cuz u are still taken aback by the shock of “the moment” in a few weeks or months maybe you’ll come to dislike it after it all sinks in. I think that the best books are the ones that never get old no matter how many times you read it. Of course this is just my opinion xx

True true. I just read the ending again and it wasn’t as good. It’s not a book I would read over and over again but more like a one time thing. I’m more of a “reading books like watching a movie” type of person so if I’m really into it, I’m not going to stop (pretty unhealthy lol) I understand where you’re coming from though.
