How To Make A Banana Milkshake

Hey girl hey. And boy.

Banana milkshakes are probably my go-to whenever our bananas go brown. I heard banana bread is great as well but I usually just stick to milkshakes. This is more of a summer drink but if I can eat ice cream in the winter then it shouldn’t be a problem.Β πŸ˜‚Β Plus, if you live in Australia *ahem Ellie*, then there you go. The “recipe” I’m using is super simple and doesn’t use vanilla ice cream, although you can add some if you have any. Okay, let’s get started.

What You Need

  • Blender
  • Milk (yes, we have them in bags teggs)
  • Bananas (I recommend one banana for 1-2 people and 3+ bananas for a family)
  • Icecubes (optional)
  • Honey (you can use sugar but like trynna stay healthy here plus it tastes just as good)
  • Vanilla Extract & Vanilla Ice Cream (optional)

Step 1Β

Peel your banana(s)Β πŸ™ƒ

Step 2

Break your banana(s) in two and drop them in the blender.

Step 3

Add milk

Now this depends on how thick you want your smoothie to be and how much milkshake you want. I usually add it to the height of the bananas and it ends up blending twice as big.

Here I use up about 500 mL so almost 2 cups but I also used 4 bananas so it just depends on your preference and quantity.

Step 4

Add honey.

No specific measurements – just drizzle some on top. Here’s also where you’d add the vanilla extract and vanilla ice cream.

Step 5Β

Add ice cubes (about 3-6) – if you are using ice cream, this step isn’t needed.

Step 6

Blend blend blend.

It should take about 30 secs – 1 minute.

Step 7 *most important*

Enjoyyyy!

And there you have it! Do any of you have banana juice boxes where you live? I used to but they don’t have any in Canada. 😒 Oh well – I can make my own and now, you can too. πŸ˜‚Β If you happen to ever make this milkshake, don’t forget to share some through the screen. I’ll see you all in my next post.

Haha literally same πŸ˜‚ I should make these again. YES BANANA JUICE BOXES! Is that not a thing?? Like it’s not juice juice as in orange juice but it’s more of a milk drink. Like chocolate milk! It’s almost like a shake consistency and it’s SO GOOD! Ugh I don’t think they sell them anymore though 😒

Yum, you’re making me hungry-I haven’t eaten bananas in FOREVER, ’cause they’re kind of loaded with carbs, but……I really wanna try this so I might make it sometime and drink it while feeling guilty, hehehe. You have milk in bags? That’s….interesting. In the US we have it in plastic jugs or cartons. Is honey actually healthier than sugar? I didn’t know that.

Haha sorry & nooo bananas have the good kind of carbs! xD Ohh ik what you mean- we have that in uae but I’m used to the three bag set that come in Costco. It’s a whole lot more enviromental because you use the same plastic pitcher to put the bag in every time. Mini health lesson – technically honey has a bit more calories than white sugar but it’s sweeter which is why you only need a tiny bit when added to things like oatmeal. Plus, white sugar has more of the chemical that increases blood sugar than there is in honey.

Bananas……I try not to eat any carbs, but I’m going to believe what you said and eat this banana. *takes enormous bite* I can see how that’d be better environment-wise. Ahhhh, I see, that makes sense. I’m sensitive to sugar, but maybe honey will have a different effect on me.

Woww – is Canada the only country who has bags? Ooh I guess you can – last time I tried a strawberry milkshake it failed miserably because I added cinnamon (moral of the story- don’t add cinnamon! But other than that, it’ll taste great)

I’m not a fan of eating bananas all the time like it depends on my mood but banana milkshakes are the besttt – you should try it. But if you make chocolate milkshake, you better send some thru the screen.
