12 Weird Habits I Have

Hey girl hey. And boy.

We all have our bad habits; nailbiting, hitting the snooze button, twirling hair – but once you hear my 12 habits, you’ll probably realize that you were normal after all.ย ๐Ÿ˜‚ย And no, these aren’t your basic ‘”nO-oNe-dOeS-tHiS”-and-everyone-in-the-comments-relate’ type of post. It’s just me sharing my weird habits and all of you secretly arranging a mental room for me.ย ๐Ÿ˜‚ย We’ll see how it goes. Without further ado, let’s get started.

  • Pinky Out

I haven’t even realized this until someone pointed it out but I always stick my pinky out whenever I do ANYTHING. Drinking tea, shutting the lamp, moving the mouse, playing clarinet (unless I’m using the pinky for a note) – you name it! I’m officially a British blogger guys.ย ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • Saying ‘Thank You’ back to ‘Thank You’

I knowww – it’s so weird.ย ๐Ÿ˜‚ย I don’t do it here since I can think before I type but unfortunately, that doesn’t always happen in real life. This teacher once said ‘thank you’ because I helped her with something and I literally say ‘thank you’ back. It happens ALL the time.ย ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

  • Opening Up Instagram Out Of Nowhere

I actually hate this one so much. I’d be doing work and bam I open up Instagram. Sometimes I even uninstall it because of this.ย ๐Ÿ˜‚ย This is more of a common one but I need to decrease it.

  • Twisting Earring

I have these small hoop earrings and I just randomly twist it when I’m bored or anxious.

  • “Like”

Ugh omg I literally can’t help myself. When I’m typing, I use the words ‘omg’, ‘ugh’, ‘literally’, ‘anyways’; but when I’m talking, I use the word like 3 times in a sentence.

  • Delayed Reaction

This one is more of a reflex than a habit but I have the latest reaction ever. If you ever try to scare me, I pause and then scream 3 whole seconds later.ย ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • In Head Scenarios

I’m probably the only person who does this but I’ve been doing it since I can remember. Basically I’d think of convos or scenarios in my head that would probably never happen or how I think things might go in the future. Sometimes after I’ve done something I think of ways it could’ve gone differently. The worst thing is I might even space out in public places like grocery stores and my facial expressions changes without me knowing.ย ๐Ÿ˜‚ I don’t know guys – maybe I’m the one who needs aย Therapy Invitation.ย ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

  • Eating Arrangement

Whenever I have a platter of meat and vegetables, I always eat it in the same order. Meat first, broccoli second, carrots third and potatoes last. I don’t know if it’s a save best for last thing or what. Oh and I don’t eat the vegetables together – each one is separate. It seems like I need an asylum.๐Ÿ˜‚

  • Light & Sound Before I Sleep

I talked about this a bit in myย Insomnia + Sleeping Disordersย back in August but I cannot sleep in silence and darkness for the life of me. I know this is how humans were programmed to sleep but ugh I don’t know – it’s so eery! I have to have a bit of light in the hallway and the sound of my family talking or a tv show. I sound like such a baby right now but hey, I told you these were weird.ย ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

no I don’tย ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • Assuming The Future Based On Random Actions

This is going to sound confusing but bear with me. Basically, it’s when I think “if this door closes….it means this will happen…”, get it? No? Here are some examples. Let’s say I have basketball practice and we’re practicing lay-ups. Sometimes I’d think, “if this basket goes in, I won’t present my speech today” or “I won’t be a teacher when I grow up”. Sometimes I do it to help me reach my goals like I’d not want to be a teacher so it encourages me to get the basket in. I really don’t know guys! I haven’t done it in a while but I’ve definitely done it a bunch of times in the past.ย ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธย ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ

  • Dancing While Waiting For The Microwave

Please tell me someone does this too. Like when you heat something for 30 seconds and you just dance or sing until it finishes. No one? I bet everyone’s cringing right now.ย ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • Pretending I’m In A Music Video

This is similar to the in head situation oneย but if a song is stuck in my head or if I’m listening to a song while I’m walking, I kind of groove with the music or slightly lip sync with it. It’s always without me realizing it so I’m pretty sure everyone walking by was so weirded out. ๐Ÿ˜‚ย This one time I was listening to Fight Song and I was all aesthetic in my head looking out in the distance and all until I make eye contact with someone and attempted to make a recovery. (spoiler alert – it was awkwardย ๐Ÿ˜‚)

not that extreme but you get the idea.

Anddd that’s all I can recall. If I remember any more, I might mention some in a 20 Facts About Me post or something. Comment if you miraculously related to any or send some therapy hotlines down below.ย ๐Ÿ˜‚

What are your weird habits?

ohh girl we’re the same except for the ‘like’ and earring twisting because when I wear an earring it would only last for 2 hours and I’ll remove it, I dunno but I’m not comfortable with them. I also dances while waiting for the microwave or when cooking something lol. For the pinky one, I used to have this mannerism when I was young then my classmates would tease me and they would that if people do that they are finicky or pretentious so I tried hard to stop it ๐Ÿ˜€

Omg really?! I seriously did not expect anyone to have the same habits. I’ve been wearing the same earrings since 3 years but they’re medical so they’re really comfortable. Yesss omg I thought I was the only one. My classmates would be like um why is your pinky randomly out? I don’t even notice. ๐Ÿ˜‚

The last three are so relatable I can’t even… And so is the pinkie one. I’m always known for being “formal” and fixing other people’s vocabulary or grammar mistakes and I think that just supports the image. Like I’m in the school cafeteria drinking from my water bottle and someone snickers and I’m like, “what’s so funny?” and they point at my finger. Good to know I’m not crazy.

You do the assuming future one too?!! Omg I literally thought no one did. Saaame I’m such a grammar freak and on top of that, I did this University grammar multiple choice course which increased my grammar OCD a ton. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Omggg same I always do that when I’m drinking water – I don’t know, it feels weird to do it with all fingers on the bottle.

You know, one time my little brother had 2 chocolate bars and I told him it was enough and he was like, “Just one more chocolate.” And then I started thinking, what if it turns into, “Just one more cigarette.” in the matter of 20 years? And I was kind of too harsh when I said that he had too much and that it affected his health. I’m so extra.

Omg dun dun duuun – my sister does that too but then I somewhat understand her struggle because i go through the same thing on ‘the week’ (tmi but whatever ๐Ÿ˜‚). Not extra at all, you’re just looking out for your little brother. โค๏ธ

I think you should add “Using too many laughing crying emoji’s” in this. I literally counted 19 laughing crying emoji’s in this. XD Have a great day!

OMG seriously?!! Saaaame whenever I’m using a laptop and don’t feel like copypasting emojis, I just use ‘xD’. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Trueee I’m thinking of adding it to another post called ‘5 habits I’ve developed from blogging’ 19?!! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Wow I’m a laughing emoji freak. You too! โค

OKAY STOP I do the in head thing, I’ve never found anyone who does this too?? Mostly I do this to music, I space out when I have my headphones on and just kinda dream, but it happens in other places too. Also, I’ve said “thank you” to thank you a fair bit before, and I say “like” far too often as well.

I get so excited reading your comments oml. IKRRR I tried to drink with all fingers and it just didn’t feel right! Ohhh that makes sense. It’s kind of like thank you for saying thank you ๐Ÿ˜‚ It’s annoyinggg – I hate when I do it while i’m finishing an assignment. I could never do that because I have a long history of ear piercing infections and since mine are hoop they take forever to put on. ACTUALLY ME – I use it everywhereee. I’m surprised to how many people related to the in head scenario like I actually thought I was psycho for doing it. ๐Ÿ˜‚ AHA GURL WE’RE LOWKEY TWINS! ๐Ÿ˜‚ Yeah those two were pretty abnormal – thanks for reading!

I twist my earrings cOnStAnTlY-you’re not alone-I sing while the microwave heats my food, too. And yesterday, I was listening to my favorite song and totally having a moment (i.e. singing along and dancing) and the mailman came up the walk and I dropped flat behind a bush hoping he wouldn’t see me…but then he leaned over the bush and asked ”Do you live here?”.
    It was so embarrassing…

I always use ‘like’ too and sometimes when I realise it, I find it really annoying… The in head scenarios, I do that ALL the time. You’re not the only one. And the pretending to be in a music video, I’ve actually done that today for the New Rules song by Dua Lipa XD I absolutely loved this post!

You’re not the only one who dances while waiting for the microwave. Also, the beep is really annoying so I race to stop it before the timer reaches zero and I like to pretend that I have super speed ๐Ÿ˜‚

I like the feeling of wet cloth or material( like my jeans for instance). I act like Gollum around my dog. I’m kinda addicted to Pam butter spray with white cheddar popcorn seasoning on its own without popcorn. That’s all I can think of right now๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜œ What do you think? Really weird?๐Ÿ˜‚

Wow. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ I remember liking the smell of a sewer truck when I was younger – weird! But gasoline makes me wanna puke.
