Hey girl hey. And boy.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. And depending on what you eat or whether you don’t eat at all, can change your day drastically. There’s so many benefits to breakfast like
- a). memory improvement (perfect for grandmas like me)
- b). decreases hunger and cravings (what?! I eat breakfast and I still want pizza)
- c). prevents type 2 diabetes
- d). improves concentration and performance in the classroom (time to get through those boring history lessons)
Okay enough with me turning into a health teacher but you get the idea. Many excuses come up in a student’s life like sleeping in late (I know you pressed that snooze button because same) or just not knowing what to eat. But I’ve got you all covered with 3 simple, healthy and most importantly, tasty breakfast ideas to make your school days just a tiny bit less depressing. 😂
Before we get started, this is the first post in my back to school marathon which can only mean two things. 1). There’s a week left until school. 😭 and 2). This is a collab with literally one of my favourite bloggers and besties, Natalie Therese. She’s so funny and supportive and gdbhjjdddhk you need to follow her right now if you haven’t already. She’s going to be sharing some more breakfast ideas and they sound super tasty like she needs to send me some right now. 😂 Make sure you check out her post here and let’s get started.
- Egg Muffins
I can’t believe I haven’t made egg muffins before. They’re super simple and delicious but it takes about 15 minutes if you cut your veggies in advance so I probably won’t recommend this if you have like 5 minutes to get ready. 😂 But if you have more time on you, this recipe is perfect.
Check out BusyBaker’s recipe here. She used bacon in her recipe but I just added vegetables of my choice so you can do that too.
2. Greek Yogurt
This is probably my go-to breakfast but I’m pretty sure everyone else uses it for oatmeal and stuff like that. You can eat this too ways. Greek yogurt on a plate with olive oil, olives and thyme (with bread obviously) OR on toast with toppings of your choice.
Greek yogurt is the closest thing to Labneh which is found literally everywhere in the Middle East (it’s SO good) but oh well, this is close enough. 😂
By the way, do you guys dip your bread in food too? Like I don’t know how to describe it but you use the bread as a spoon and eat it with things like greek yogurt, beans and mashed stuff I guess. 😂 I feel like no one does it in America.
Smoothies are the perfect breakfast drinks for on the go and you can find so many recipes online. You can prepare them the day before and that way if you’re really in a rush, you can take them out with you.
I made a banana milkshake recipe a while back and it’s a great source of potassium to start off your day. Okay, Raya?😂
My best friend Raya tried it at my house a long time ago and she said it had no sugar like thanks there’s honey and it’s supposed to be healthy? 😂 But anyways, if you don’t like banana, there’s so many more options like:
Anddd that’s all for today. It was super fun collabing with you, Natalie and you guys need to make sure to check out her delicious breakfast ideas here. I hope this inspired you to NOT skip breakfast (and school) even when you get lazy. If a potato can do it, then so can you. 😂
What do you usually have for breakfast?
Which idea was your favourite?
When do you start school?
I’ll see you guys with another back to school post tomorrow.
