Hey girl hey. And boy.
School sucks sometimes. Other than the actual stressful assignments and exams, there are the little things that just drive us all crazy. I’ve gathered different ideas from the internet and my own brain and I’ll be sharing them with you today. I love to rant but the last time I made a pet peeves post was last August so it definitely needed to make a comeback. 😂 Before we get started, this is a collab with the awesome and humorous (I really ran out of synonyms for funny 😂) blogger, Wambby! She’s so funny and random (in a good way 😂) and you need to follow her if you haven’t already. On her blog, she’s going to be sharing some really relatable pet peeves like I was nodding my head the whole time while reading it so make sure to check it out here. And let’s get started.
- Distracting Noises
Now I like to say I’m a pretty focused student so it’s not that easy to distract me but you guys, the little repetitive sounds of tapping pens or fingers just get to me. 😂 I literally have to make a whole scene and go “can you not?” to everyone who does it. Wow I sound like a mean girl but it’s really annoying, okay? 😂 In 7th grade, this guy kept singing or humming whenever he does anything. And every time I tell him to keep it down, it encourages him even more like fveubhdnmdkhjkl. I don’t expect everyone to be silent like robots, I actually enjoy a bit of noise but when it’s really repetitive, long and right in my ears, then you’re going to hear me vent. 😂
2. Being Picked First For Presentations
Ugh this happened to me once and I hated it. I don’t know about you but usually teachers would randomly select students for the presentation and I’m NEVER the one to go first. I think it’s just an unspoken rule or maybe the odds are always in my favour. So I was joking about it as usual and my name actually popped up first. I was so not mentally prepared and it was a speech! Like our unit project speech. It turned out good in the end but it was so stressful and my throat was dry ughh. But whatever- someone’s gotta go first, right?
3. Teachers “Waiting” For The Class To Quiet Down
This was done mostly in elementary school but it still happens. Basically, the teacher would just wait at their desks at the beginning of class and expect the whole class to quiet down. Most of the time, everyone’s socializing while waiting for the teacher to start class when really, the teacher’s waiting for them to stop talking and then there’s this whole miscommunication going on that leads nowhere.
What’s really annoying is that the teacher blames it on the students like you’re supposed to start the lesson?? When everyone finally realizes, it’s even more annoying because instead of shutting up, they go around like SHHH. This is definitely an old school struggle but it was just so annoying – especially our drama teacher in 7th grade who literally made us do YOGA instead of drama when the guys misbehaved and ghidnnsmiolkndkc just. alert. the. class.
4. Interruptions During Presentations
Aaah this really gets on my nerveeees. Like I’m just trying to get this presentation over-with but someone needs to go to the washroom and someone needs to ask dumb questions and another person wants to walk in to collect food for a food drive and the national anthem goes on and I’m just standing there like …..!
We had this teacher who literally interrupted your presentation every. second. and explained it further for another 6 minutes like what? 😭 There was this group that had to present in the gym for a larger group of people and they had everything sorted out like cue cards and game shows but nope, the teacher joined in and started talking about her aunt’s wedding (well not really but you get the idea 😂) and BAM – the bell rang and they never got to finish. So now every time those annoying moments when a text would send unfinished – my friends and I would call it the Miss M keyboard. 😂
She was a great teacher though. The only time this is helpful is when you need to look down on your cards or find where you were so the distractions give you extra time but still – ughhhhh 😂
5. Jam-packed Hallways
If you’ve read my last September Wrappers post, you’d know that my school last year had really small hallways. So it’s literally the worst trying to get all your stuff ready in time. Especially in the winter! This year is going to be even more packed because my new school doesn’t have buses so everyone’s mode of transportation is by car. It’s going to be horrific in the morning and let alone at the end of the day. It’s going to be the hunger games but with like a thousand tributes.
It’s even more annoying with slow walkers and large groups of friends like at one point, I’m going to give up on saying “excuse me” that’ll it start to sound gibberish.
6. Stealing My Food
Do not even think about laying a hand on my precious baby. I hate it when people ask for my food like I’m sorry, if I don’t offer, it might just mean that I DON’T want you to take one. I’ve heard of people that are so nice to give food to their friends and next thing you know, their food is gone. Like oh hell nah gurl – when it comes to food, I’m like a lion protecting her cub so don’t even think about it. 😂 I have no problem with trading food or lending an extra snack to someone who forgot their lunch but when you have a proper lunch sitting in front of you, then bye Felicia.
7. Taking Up The Homework The Only Time You Don’t Do It
Ugh this is really annoying. Like the only time I get busy or something comes up and I forget, you want to take up the homework. Of course you may be thinking this is the perfect chance to copy it down but our teacher used to literally come around and make SURE the whole class did it and pick on everyone when taking up the questions. And then when I do finish my homework, nope, we jump into the lesson right away. 🙃😂 Turns out the odds are not in my favour after all, Effie.
Anddd that’s all for today. I need to start writing posts in advance because it’s currently almost midnight and this is probably going to show up the next day. 😂 At the end of the day, all these annoying moments are not huge deals and there are bigger problems going on in the world but this is just for entertainment purposes (and y’all know I like to rant 😂) Despite all the annoying moments that happen in school, we still need to be grateful that we have education and admit it, most of the friends and memories you have you probably wouldn’t have been in your life without school so… 😂
What are your school pet peeves?
Are you homeschooled or “public-schooled”? 😂
Which one do you relate to the most?
Make sure to check out Wambby’s post and I’ll see you all in my next one.
