Hey girl hey. And boy.
So if you’ve been reading my blog posts you may know that I have a series called blank answer where I ask groups of people a question and share it on here. This time I decided to ask seniors, “what would you tell the youth of today?” just because it’s coming from someone that went through a different generation and it would be important to know what advice would help lead us a healthy and happy life. In Canada, you can find a lot of seniors because the health care here is pretty advanced so here is some advice from people who have passed the youth age and are now passing their knowledge to us.
1. Inspirational
“Follow your dreams.”
“Stand up for yourself.”
“Just be true to yourself.”
“Always be honest.”
I feel like this is the cliche advice you always hear but I definitely agree with all that’s been said! Especially standing up for yourself. You have a voice – use it.
2.ย Straight Forwardย
“Don’t take your clothes off on social media.”
“Don’t do drugs.”
“Smarten up.”
“Be a good parent.”
“Don’t take pot.”
“Grow up.” x2
“Behave.”
“Learn to take responsibility.”
Honestly these made me laugh so hard. These seniors were playing cards and just blasting out straight forward advice but hey, they’re right. ๐ย The first one was hilarious and it made the whole room laugh but you’ll be surprised at the amount of people who actually share nude images online – especially teens. Wow I love how 2 seniors said grow up like let us live but I guess some of us are too immature. ๐ย Sometimes we need straightforward advice so I’m glad they didn’t sugar coat it.
3. Advice That Hit Me Hard
“Bring back respect.”
This is so true! I feel like with everyone hiding behind media, it’s so easy to be mean and inconsiderate but seriously, what happened to respect? We’re taught from a young age to respect the people around us but when it comes to real life we always find a way to bring people down. We’re better than that.
“If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.”
This is a classic and this senior said she got it passed down from her grandmother so it’s really classic but I always find myself needing to come back to this. It’s so easy to get angry and run our mouths but we should really think of what we’re saying before it creates some terrible damage.
“Wake up and start getting involved.”
YES! I couldn’t agree with this one more. We’re so caught up with the unimportant things that life will pass us by without us realizing it. Get involved in your community and school and start making real memories. This senior hit the nail on the head.
Anddd that’s all for today.
What advice did you like the most?
What advice would you give to our youth? (even if you’re young yourself
I’ll see you guys in my next post.
Bayyy. ๐
OMG yes, can like half the teenage population just GROW UP and stop acting so stupid? This post was so awesome and funny, I hope you do more.
Neat posy!

SAME ๐ Like give us a break but seniors have definitely went through tough times as teens and had to worry about war whereas a lot of us worry about a silly fight with a friend and so on. But we have our different struggles.

I’d rather have silly fights than be a senior, all the pressure would have me so stressed๐

Hey Bayy!
I’m sorry I liked this post and never got round to commenting, but that’s exactly what I’m doing now! So amazing post, I just love your survey posts, they are so good ๐ Everything here is so good, and so true! As the youth of today, we can be so disrespectful and rude, I mean think before you speak guys! Me included, I’m not gonna make myself out as the innocent one, because I’m really not, I love the inspirational, straight forward and advice that hit me hard ๐ So true! We need to wake up and get involved, we need to do this stuff! I think straight forward ones are just right out funny ๐ They just say it in such a simple way. Funny that recently a guy asked me to send nudes, and I was like hell to the nahh and then I blocked him because he was a pervy creepy anyway ๐
Great post Grandma Bayance! Catching up with your blog slowly but surely ๐

Oh, and I forgot to put this in my comment but probably the thing that I would tell the youth of today is to get off their high horse and start caring about their actions and how they are affecting people (got to day it how it is ๐) xx
