Hey girl hey. And boy.
Summer. That amazing time of the year but also the worst in terms of staying modest in crazy hot weather. I have no idea where the term muggy comes from but thanks to thesauras, I have compiled a few outfit ideas for those warm days in spring and summer. A couple of these I wore for Eid so some are more formal than others but hey, at least we have a variety of styles. So without further ado, let’s get starteddd.
- Short Wide Cardigan
I found this cardigan in Urban Planet and y’all I was in loooove. I love the cardigans that flow on the sleeves so if you find something like that, definitely get it for summer!! This cardigan is really light and great for events or casual situations depending on how you dress it up or down. I usually wear this with a long sleeves shirt, jeans, a belt and a coral headscarf. Although, some of them don’t require long sleeves under (my hand is pretty long that’s all – speaking of which, what am I even doing in that photo? forever a mystery)
2. Long Wide Cardigan
The material I used here is a little thick but I know many cardigans that are really light as well. The reason why I love these is that it really allows the wind to circulate to the rest of your body if that makes sense. And you can wear them on top of a short sleeve shirt and jeans or casual pants. I wore this to a business convention so it works for all types of occasions and I wear this cardigan or the black one the most in the summer!
3. Blouse + Wide Pants
You guyssss. If you want to take one thing out of this post, it’s that wide pants are literally the bestttt for summer even if you wear shorts every day. The thing with shorts is that most stick to you and end up making your skin even warmer whereas wide pants often magnify the effects of wind around and literally feel like you’re wearing nothing. You probably don’t want that feeling but it’s just really comfortable and the best for warm weather. For Eid, I got a matching blouse from H & M that cuffs at the wrists but flows throughout the rest of the body. It’s literally hugeee and I love it. My mom hates over-sized shirts but here I am.
I wore this on the first day of Eid but jumpsuits are amazing for summer! This material is polyester so it’s really stretchy and I find that jumpsuits give you a lot of room in the waist and crotch area. Ew, I just used the word crotch but you get what I mean. I have like 4 jumpsuits in my closet so if you someone wearing jumpsuits every 0.2 seconds in your neighbourhood, it’s most likely me.
You guysss – skirts look so pretty but all the ones in normal stores here stick really tight to your skin and aren’t flowy like I want them. I have one skirt that is but I look terribleee in skirts so I think I’ll stick to wide pants for now. Also, I wore a skirt once without any leggings under and y’all the dread you feel when you move around and you’re afraid the skirt folded in on itself is reaaal. Do you guys know what I mean? Like if you fall over and everyone can see what’s under? Thank God that didn’t happen to me but still – scary. Anyways, I saw this outfit at Urban Planet and it looked so cuteee but I had no time to try it on so here you go.
Anddd that’s all for today.
