December Wrappers

Hey girl hey. And boy.

It’s January already!!! I’m not going to bother with saying happy new year because the hype is kind of over and I don’t want it to be the one line everyone writes in the comments so take that, one line commenters.

Jk jk I appreciate you! 😂 Anyways, December was actually such a great month. Vacation for a week and community work like yes! It was also amazing in terms of blogging as well. As usual, if you haven’t seen my last wrapper, *cough*click here*cough*. Skim through to what interests you (actually don’t – it’s not gonna be that long) and let’s get starteddd.

School

Business class was not too bad this month. It’s definitely boring but I started talking to people in my class more and we had this whole discussion on space and religion so that was great. You guys don’t know how awkward the first months were like it was unreal.

can we keep a mean girls streak?

We also did a donut sale and the place we were donating to came to our school for a picture and oml guys the woman was smiling at me very oddly. I bet she’s nice but she reminds me of those mothers in horror movies that PRETEND TO BE NICE. Okay enough of my paranoia. It was great that we wrapped up this whole business club business (literally) and plus, I got free donuts and some leftover toppings to take home.

Sorry I broke it

Oh. my. goodness you guys. I hated science so much this month, especially physics. First of all, we had this group project with these university space people that came in and the people in my group were so uncooperative!! I hate everyone in my science class except like three people and I get my seating plan all the way across the room from those people like ??

Image result for regina screaming gif

Oh we’re back

Okay I don’t hate them but it’s just so hard to cooperate with them. We had this presentation to do and this girl that I hardly know came up to me like do you want to be partners? I knew exactly why she asked me and she’d exchange looks with her best friend and oml. I’d be fine if she did her part but she didn’t work on it until like the last ten minutes where she wrote a few lines. Now I only said yes because I needed to work on my collaboration skills with not-so-hard-working people but this is a shared grade and ugh I’m too much of an independent potato.

On a brighter note, drama went really well! Our scripted scene was really dramatic and I was the lawyer. It’s about a lawyer confronting his patient in a holding room but this time things have gone too far and the patient doesn’t remember anything. It was a cool and tragic script and I believe we did pretty well. My friend and I thought we’d get all the lines wrong but we didn’t miss anything alhamdulillah and yeah. It was fun!

I’ve done a lot of things with social justice this month. I won’t go too into detail because I like to keep good acts to myself but there was an optional field trip to go with the senior course to this first nations home. I befriended a bunch of seniors (high school seniors) and I realized that I didn’t lose all social skills – just people in my grade level kinda suck. I’d like to order a transfer to the 1990s please. This trip was fascinating and changed my views about a lot of things. We also did the shoebox project for a women’s shelter and I got to miss 3 periods, get free food and do good for the community like what more can you ask? This month was great in terms of extracurriculars.

see guys? take the quiz here

I also stopped by the development program. There was this guy who suffered from anxiety and depression but was graduating this year. And when I tell you he had severe anxiety, it’s not those 12 year old stories like “I’m so depressed” – like he was actually ill. I’m very proud of him as he got way better but he started to tell me some gruesome stuff and aah I got scarred for life. But I had a good talk with him because we dived into politics, careers, colleges and all that stuff. A lot of the people in the development program don’t really talk so I’m glad I got to hear from this guy.

There’s a poetry contest going on in February and your girl is enteringgg. I chose the bilingual field because no one entered that and I’d just automatically make it to the next round so let’s hope I do. I’ll keep you all updated but if you know how to read french, definitely hit me up.

So that’s about it. January is going to be full of exams so this might be the happiest I’m going to get about the school section. 😂

Life

WE MOVED! If you couldn’t tell by my 10 Moving Life Hacks You Need To Know, I was moving all last week and I’m writing this post from my new home. Alhamdulillah I’m very happy about it and it feels like home already. I get my own room too mwahah. I’ll definitely do a room tour for you guys soon but I’m so glad things went smoothly.

I also had a dentist appointment for the first time in forever. In the waiting room, my drama partner called and we practised our lines over the phone and it was so funny because it sounded like a phone call and some of my lines were like “you killed her” and “her mother is in critical condition” so I kept getting stares.

Image result for people staring at you gif

Moving meant I had to leave my baby neighbor behind and aaah. She started walking and runs towards me every time I come. She’s literally the cutest I can’t. If anyone currently have a baby, send them over and I’ll be sure to “give them back”. Jk jk 😂

While volunteering, I talked to two new people. One was a volunteer around my age and we talked about high school, tv shows and careers. We actually got along pretty well. I also talked to this chinese mom about skin care and politics. And guys, I found the secret. She said it’s mainly genetics, but we drink a lot of water and eat a lot of seafood. And veggies are important too. So basically they eat healthy and good quality skin care products are much cheaper there so it’s easier to take care of yourself. I don’t suffer from acne but I’ll have to follow some of these tips because arabs eat a lot of meat and it’s not that good for you. Vegans, here I come. Jk I can’t let go of ice cream. 😂

I bought a sweater from a local business and I’m loving it. I also went to Ardene to get hair stuff for my sister and my surprise pack was so bad. The only thing I liked were the socks because turns out the earrings have cadmium and I can’t even change my earrings because they get infected easily! I also bought shoes on Boxing Day so that was my shopping recap.

Books:

I Was Here: Such a great book and I LOVE Gayle Forman. It was a unique story and aah the shift in Ben McCallisterrr. It got me hooked from the beginning and I could not put it down. 100% recommend.

Where She Went: Sequel to If I Stay. I only watched the movie and for the most part, it was kind of boring. It’s basically after heartbreak and Mia’s acting like nothing happened for half the book. I loved the intense scene where they confront each other and I love that it’s from Adam’s point of view. But yeah, Adam deserved better.

Dreams

Okay so I barely had any dreams in December! And then they all came crashing towards the last week.

Short

  • I cut my hair with regular scissors and my mom was fine with it (lowkey want short hair at the moment)
  • There was this drama contest and they gave us a day to memorize so I messed up a zillion times
  • Alex(a) found out where I lived like what? There was this winter concert I was going to and all my old friends were happy to see me but then it turned into mystery because Alexa texted me and said “see you there :)”. I was like what? Why would she come all the way from England to stalk me? Sorry Alexa, your dream self was acting odd. 😂 And turns out, you lost your parents and were training a robot to do PG18 stuff. To top it all off, me and my brother got chased by a T-rex. My brain is a great place.
  • My old English teacher kept calling me and showing up to my friend’s house. He called and was like “do you know about *** services- do you have a teaching program?” and I was like hey is this Mr. ****? And he was like yeah! And I was like haha it’s me Bayance and he just stayed silent. Also, while I was on the phone, I was literally naked in the middle of science class and had to change quickly and my science teacher noticed (he’s a male) and gave me a disapproving look. Then my friend was like Anyone?! Where’s Bayance’s hijab? And turns out it was right beside me and I interrupted the whole class and ew what is this dream. I also remember my friend breaking down and me hugging her and I am so glad this is a dream because what was going on here?

OKAY AND HERE’S THE GRAND AND DETAILED DREAM:

The reason this is so weird is because I met people I never met in real life before so how did my brain make this up? So Boring Josh from WordPress reached out to me to give me a giftcard for my help? I gave him 4 links to different giftcards and suddenly he turned into this old man that I met up every monday with before I had volunteering. I’m not sure if I helped him or if he helped me but all I knew is that it was volunteer work. My family came and he said he wanted to give me $30 because $13 for my wage and $17 for a tip. We were so happy for some reason like it was way too happy so maybe I was in a difficult situation in the dream?

Image result for won the lottery gif

Fast forward to later, I’m at a mall. I’ll spare you all the details (it felt so real) but I saw this girl with green eyes and turned out she was the old man’s daughter. I remember her face so well and she had on a hijab but you could see her hair. We had dinner with her and her father and I remember thinking she was perfect for my brother. Anyways, big plot twist because under the gift card option, this man wrote a poem about how he turned out to love me and how it pains him that I’ll never love him back. It legit felt like beauty and the beast.

I felt so bad because he was way too old for me (altho he was decent looking so maybe 50s?) and then he was like, yeah wish we could turn back time and he started bending the clock hand backward. I got this vision of him as a young man and turns out he was a popular singer with bright blue eyes. His name was Mole Elip and I remember writing it down and he was like what are you doing and I said writing this down for my dream journal. So at this point, I realized it was a dream.

I remember writing down marriage conditions and IDK what this is but I just felt comfortable around him and I think this is why some women marry older men in difficult situations. I used to be so grossed out by it but now I kinda get it? He wasn’t too old btw but still. He had a daughter my brother’s age so.. I still wouldn’t marry someone with a big age gap but this was an interesting dream.

Wow no one read that but moving on.

Woah! This is amazing Bayance. And thanks for taking my name. 💕
It really means a lot. ☺️
But I just realized that, yeah! I actually have been active a lot in this and blogging turned out to be a place where I can share my honest opinions freely. And it’s such a wonderful feeling to meet lots of amazing and inspiring bloggers just like you. And ofcourse for me too, the post related to Islam is my favorite post till now from your blog.
I for one is a person who wants to spread my belief independently and that insightful post of yours gave me an extra motivation. So 👏 to you Bayance! 😃

I know I always say this, but I love these posts so much.
YOU GET YOUR OWN ROOM? Can I please come live at your house for a bit? We’re redoing the room I share with my two sisters and it’s like one if those kiddie obstacle courses that look easy, but you end up tripping on everything and looking like an idiot. I swear, there’s stuff EVERYWHERE. So every time I want to grab my phone from the charger on the other side of the room, it’s like that scene from Star Wars where Han Solo is going through the asteroid belt.
And to make life crazier, we’re dogsitting!? My brother has been begging for a dog, and I voted we take care of something like a Corgi or a Chihuahua, but NO, somehow our friends’ enormous Golden Retriever needed to be dogsit. I have nothing against dogs, but cats are way better more my thing.
AND I FLIPPING REALIZED I TURN 13 TOMORROW. IT’S INSANE.

Wow that’s a lot, I also kind of want short hair but not super short hair… if you get what I’m saying. And I’m lazy so I’ll answer the questions, I guess.
How’s school? Schools good, except I have to wake up at 6:20 and then we have breakfast at 6:35 (my sister is a slow eater, and both of them have to get on the bus at 7:10 (well leave then) and I leave at 7:40 ish. Sad.
How’s life? Good. I just turned 13. We’re having a party to celebrate my teenagerness my sister’s birthday too.
December dreams? Uhhh I can’t think of any right now.
How’s blogging? Pretty good I’ve posted every day January so far, almost as much as December…. I’m trying to gain more followers because I removed them all and I now have inspiration.
Books You’ve Read? Well Keeper of the Lost Cities book 7, and I’m currently reading Never Evers. Both super good books/series
January goals? I haven’t made any for January, but for the whole year I want to read 50 books, gain 100 followers (by June), save more money, sell things to earn money, and become a better blogger. I already have so let’s hope it continues.
Anyways awesome post Bay, oh and I love your blog desisgn, I feel like you had it before but I’m just saying it now??? Okay bye

I thought it would be shorter but I got carried away. 😂 Ugh yes my school starts at 8 and I have to wake up 6:45. It’s just me and my brother so I don’t have siblings to slow me down. 😂
Aah that’s cool. You and Natalie are twins haha. 😂 13 was a pretty half half year for me but I hope you have a great one! Don’t be cursed like the number. 😂
YES GURL consistency is key. Even tho I post like every 5 days (oops). Aah you removed them all? By accident or to start fresh?
Ooh I haven’t read series in the longest time.
AAH good luck on all your goals – I’m sure you’ll make it!! And you’re already a great blogger in my eyes.
Thank you so muchhh!! I changed it recently so no worries – thank you!!! 😂<3

My school ends at 2:35 but we leave the school at 2:45 (first wave has to wait) and then there’s tons of traffic getting to the high school (which is super close) at so I don’t get home until 3:00, unless I have a club because I do yearbook and stem so every Thursday I’m on the late bus and very other Tuesday. Plus I used to do Cross Country (yeah I dared to do cross country….) Plus I have homework so yeah. Unless I get it done on the days I don’t have chorus. (4 days a week, then 2 are free time kinda, we have a 6 day cycle)
Haha yeah we’re like a week apart. I still feel 12 though, but now I guess I’m older. It’s not as big as turned 18 but still it’s a teenager. My grandmother surprised me with a trip after school gets out (instead of presents for our birthdays, she takes us somewhere, but this time it’s flying I shouldn’t say where but yeah I guess when you’re 13 you’re officially a teen.
Don’t feel bad, I barely posted throughout fall so yeah.
I deleted the followers when I thought I wasn’t gonna log anymore, except for a few so now I’m back by like 100 but I saw Rachel @ Nancy Drew do a blog tour so maybe I’ll do that.
Thank you so much Bay!!! 😀
PS: Sorry if I was ranting too much

Ugh yes like dairy isn’t animal abuse right? Right? 😦 The way they cut meat in Islam doesn’t harm the animals at all so that’s why we don’t eat non-halal meat. Thank you!!
